Papaya Gold PAWPAW Moisturising Balm

I need to start off by apologising for the limited amount of posts I have posted so far this year. I am so busy at work at the moment and doing my Trainee Solicitor course, that I literally feel as though I have no time to do much else.

I have managed to actually put some time aside to write about a new product I have been using since the end of December. This product being Papaya Gold PAWPAW Moisturising Balm.

I have heard this balm mentioned a few times over the last months, so when I came across it whilst browsing the Feel Unique website, I thought I would give it a go.

The balm claims to soothe, relieve and moisturise dry, sensitive, chaffed and irritated skin. It also states that it can be used by people who suffer with eczema, which is you have read my blog before you will know I suffer from eczema on a daily basis.

The balm does not contain any parabens or sulphates which is perfect for me as I am trying my hardest to stay away from all sulphates.

The ingredients in the balm as: 'Pharmaceutical Grade Petrolatum, Carica Papaya (paw paw) fruit extract, Bees Wax, Bio Active Manuka Honey 20+, Potassium Sorbate'.

The balm is a thick gel like texture which easily glides over your skin and has a lovely scent to it too, well in my opinion anyway.

I have found it does keep my skin moisturised and calms my skin down when my skin is slightly irritated due to my eczema. However, when I have had any very big flare ups of eczema, it hasn't really dramatically helped my skin.

I will stick to using this most days as part of my skincare routine and just use other products when my skin is at its worst, such as the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Cream which I have reviewed here.

If you have dry and sensitive skin then I would really recommend this for you as it is very hydrating and is so affordable at only £5.99 here. Not only does it hydrate your skin but it can also be used to moisturise your lips too, such a great product.

Has anyone else tried this before? If so, what did you think?

Dry Winter Skin Be Gone

My skin is dry at the best of times but at the moment in this cold weather, my skin is at its driest. My usual facial creams just aren't cutting it at the moment.

I had some Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser for Christmas and have been using it over the last few weeks. I have used the Liz Earle cleanser and toner on and off for about two years now but have never tried any of their creams before.

The Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser is best suited for those with very dry skin or mature skin. It is rich in GLA, Omega 3 and antioxidants to leave the skin radiant and replenished.  After cleansing and toning my face, I then apply the cream all over my face and neck both morning and evening.

I love it, it is a lovely thick creamy texture and instantly soothes and moisturises my skin as soon as I apply it. It keeps my skin hydrated longer than any other cream I currently own and makes my skin glow.

You can buy the cream here for £39.00 for a 50ml jar. It is pretty pricey but at this time of the year there is not much else that can help very dry skin as good as this.

They do stock a fragrance free version of this for people with very sensitive skin, so I may give that a go next as my skin is always very sensitive.

Has anyone else used this before?

My New Nanshy Stand-up Brush Holder

My boyfriend lives around 45-50 minutes away from me, so when I stay at his house I have to pack my car full with make up and clothes to last me for the couple of days I stay at his house.

My sister recently recommended the Nanshy Standup brush holder to me, stating it is amazing when you are constantly on the move.

I had to try it out myself as I usually just carried my make up brushes around in a cosmetic bag which slightly bends my brushes which has been driving me insane.

I decided to order the brush holder from eBay here, but you can also order it from the Nanshy website here for £14.95.

The holder can fit a large amount of brushes, it claims to fit around 30 make up brushes.

If you travel a lot then I would highly recommend you buy one too. I will be taking this with me not only when I travel to my boyfriend's house but also on all my holidays and weekends away too.

Let's get a little more personal........ Natural Sanitary Products

As I am sure you all know by now, I love it when I find amazing natural/organic products. I was very happy when Veeda* contacted me to see whether I would be interested in trying out their natural sanitary products.

Veeda's tampons and towels are all 100% natural cotton, compared to popular well known brands which use bleached cotton and/or synthetic products. The amount of fragrances, dyes and chemicals used in sanitary products is quite shocking. Veeda only use natural hypoallergenic products, so people with even the most sensitive of skin can use them.

As a result of the Veeda tampons not containing such harsh chemicals, this reduces the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Now I haven't heard about Toxic Shock Syndrome for a good few years now, but it is still a problem today.

It is quite sad how matters such as Toxic Shock Syndrome aren't spoken about enough and there are likely to be many people who don't even know it exists or how it can occur. Toxic Shock Syndrome is caused by a bacterial infection which can attack the major organs which can lead to kidney failure and even heart attacks.

Viscose rayon found in conventional tampons promotes the production of the toxin that can lead to Toxic Shock Syndrome.  To date there has never been a case of tampon-related Toxic Shock Syndrome when using natural tampons.

I have tested out the towels and tampons during my recent 'time of the month' and can honestly say I am impressed. The towels are very soft to wear with their 'silk-soft' cover sheet and they are very absorbent with no leakage at all.

At first I assumed that they would cost a lot of money, I was wrong. They only cost £1.98 per pack of 14 (which is what I was paying using more well known sanitary brands) and you can buy them from their website here or from Boots here.  I genuinely will now be switching to using Veeda every month and wish I had come across this brand sooner.

Have you ever used any natural sanitary products before? Were you aware of what your sanitary products may contain?

Percy and Reed No Oil Oil

Another amazing product to come from my Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar is the Percy and Reed Volumising No Oil Oil.

The bottle states that it is for fine hair, whereas I have very thick hair, however I still love it. I love big hair with lots of volume, so this helps make my hair look a lot more full but still look nice and sleek.  The oil is very lightweight and is non-greasy, so when some other oils can leave a sticky-greasy finish, this oil leaves your hair looking glossy and fresh.

The oil has violet extracts with pro vitamin B5 to strengthen, nourish and moisturise, add bounce and texture to your hair.

Percy and Reed have both this product for fine hair and a smooth and sleek version for thick hair. However, even though I do have thick hair, the volumising no oil oil is my choice of the two as I love how it makes my hair both smooth and bouncy.

After washing my hair, I towel dry it before adding two drops of the oil to my hair and combing it through before blow drying. The oil also has heat protectant to help protect your hair from heat damage caused by your hair dryer/straighteners.

You can buy this from Marks and Spencer here for only £14.00.

Mio Liquid Yoga Restorative Bath Soak

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Years Eve. I had a great time and can't believe it is all over already and I have to go back to work tomorrow.

One of my New Years Resolutions as you can see in my post here, is to be less relax and try to be less stressed.

In my Marks and Spencer Advent Calendar, I had the perfect item to help keep me nice and calm.

Mio Liquid Yoga Restorative Bath Soak claims to ease hard-working muscles and restore your body with a blend of essential oils,  mineral salts and therapeutic herbs. It is supposed to relax and calm your busy mind.

It is free from SLS, parabens, synthetic fragrance and colourants which if you have read my blog before, you will know I hate having "nasties" in my beauty products.

I have now used this twice and it literally does wind you down perfectly. After my bath I was completely stress free and ready for bed. If you have had a long week at work or just feel as though you need a nice relaxing evening, this is the product for you.

You step out the bath relaxed with beautifully moisturised skin. This has a big thumbs up from me.

You can buy it here for £26.00 for 200ml.

Happy New Year

Just a quick post today to wish all of my lovely readers a happy new year. I hope all of you had a lovely time last night celebrating. I spent mine with my boyfriend and friends and had a great night.

I have pretty much spent today sleeping, which technically was one of my 2016 resolutions that I mentioned here, so I was only doing what I had told myself to do more of right?! Being hungover was just a coincidence surely.

I hope 2016 is even better than 2015 for everyone and you all have a lovely new year and those of you who are lucky not to work in retail, enjoy your last few days off work.

Did you celebrate at all last night?
